VIA 2018 is a scheme that focuses on research and development projects. The scheme is called in full Accelerator Innovative Ambitions. With the VIA scheme they want to stimulate innovation and economic development in SMEs.

Wadudu has also made use of this scheme. With the project “Popscan”. Within the mealworm culture and the scientific literature it has emerged that the mealworm pupae and beetles can be sexed. Within insect culture, gender assessment and sorting provides increased efficiency

Result:
The intended result of the project is the realization of a prototype of a Popscan. The dolls are automatically assessed on vitality, gender and sorted.
