Opening Wadudu insect center Beilen
BEILEN – The official opening of the Wadudu insect center on November 4 in Beilen by deputy Henk Jumelet, alderman Gerard Lohuis (municipality of Midden Drenthe) and Janmar Katoele (Wadudu).
The insect center combines breeding, research and advice to achieve a sustainable interpretation of insect farming in Northwest Europe.
The insect center breeds two types of insects: mealworms and Black Soldier Flies. In collaboration with Van Hall Larenstein Hogeschool and Aeres Hogeschool, Wadudu has started a project with breeding Black Soldier Flies on residual flows in poultry houses.
