The project ‘Insect puppet sorting device’ wants to contribute to the automation and mechanization of insect breeding by means of device. This device can sort the sexes of the insects. 

The demand after insects is increasing, but production is laggin behind. Therefore it is time to invest in upscaling, automation and mechanization. In the breeding of the mealworm, gains can be made in the reproduction phase by optimizing the sex ratio. However, this is only possible in practice. It depends on the separation of the sexes or the optimization and if the sex ratio can be done automatically.
